"This is the most recent attempt to create such a grass roots effort to arose
conservatives into action. This is sorely needed but Third parties have a poor
record in the US. But good luck anyway."

"I hope your understand that the Republican party will be hurt by this attempt
to form a Conservative party.  It will give Democrats the more control of
national and state legislatures."
Randall M.  San Jose CA

CPUS Response: CPA will caucus and vote with Republicans on most
issues. The important thing is to reduce liberal influence and give
Conservatives a real voice. Our mission is to replace hapless Republicans and
diminish Democrats. Reasons 4 and 5 and important in this regard.
"Its about time somebody thought of this.  I'm tired of Republicans acting like Democrats because they're
afraid of the media. Conservatives need a place to go and you guys might be the place. Sign me up."
Sarah J. Sacramento CA
"This attempt will fail because mainstream Republicans won't support you.  We need to win elections and
we can't do that by following Conservatives.  We need more people like Colin Powell and less people like
Gingritch (sic). You conservatives need to change with the times, man."
Sammy, (No town)

CPUS Response: It's clear that "mainstream" people like you are the root cause of Republican problems;
you think that abandoning Republican principles will help you get elected. It will not. You should also
recall that Powell endorsed and voted for Obama. How can the RNC rebuild if they rely on having more
people like Powell who vote for Democrats?  This Conservative Party will not have a politically
schizophrenic membership and will demonstrate steady, sustained growth.
"Hurray. At last. Finally. Thank God (yes, the US is still a Christian nation) that someone has seen the light. The Republican
Party does NOT have conservative principle anymore.  This idea might be hard to get started but very hard to stop once the word
gets out.  Best of luck."
Maureen, Tulsa OK
"Can we finally agree that Conservatives are not welcome in the Republican Party.  Just look at how much trouble they have
getting consensus on gay marriage, illegal immigration, and Iraq.  True Conservatives are united on these issues and have no
trouble saying so.  Limbaugh, Newt or
Trancredo would never get to a leadership spot in the spineless RNC these days. Lets do
this."
Thomas, Canton OH
"Why would you create the environment for Democrats to rule? Yes, we Republicans have made some mistakes recently but we
are a good alternative to Democrats on many issues. If we leave the Party it will be weaker and Dems will win more.  We can't
have that."
Marilyn, Miami FL

CPUS Response: Republicans have made more than "some mistakes" and those mistakes have been ongoing for some time, not
just recently.  President Bush and the Republican controlled Congress expanded the deficit, grew government, allowed earmarks
to explode and actually considered giving amnesty to illegal aliens. When elected, CPUS House and Senate members will work
with  Republicans...when they adhere to Conservative principles. CPUS will actually strengthen what's left of the Republican
Party. However, we should think in terms of Conservative principles, not blind loyalty to a Party that has lost its core values.
